K-EduPoint — Korean-language learning app

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Innovicons Co., Ltd. ("Innovicons", "we", "us", or "our") and govern your use of the K-EduPoint mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. If the age of majority in your country of residence is higher than 18 (for example, 19 in the Republic of Korea), you must meet that higher age instead. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that you are able to form a binding contract.

2. The Service

K-EduPoint is a free, ad-supported application for learning the Korean language. It provides lessons, exercises, quizzes, spaced-repetition review, mini-games, and an in-app reward system. The Service is currently available on Android. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

3. Your Account

• You sign in using a third-party provider (Google, or Apple where offered). You are responsible for maintaining the security of the account you use to sign in.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
• For security, we may allow only one active session per account at a time and may sign you out of other sessions.
• One person may not maintain multiple accounts to gain extra rewards or otherwise abuse the Service.

4. Virtual Items and Rewards

• The Service includes virtual items such as "Gold" / points, tickets, and other in-app rewards earned through learning activities or by watching optional rewarded ads.
• Virtual items have no monetary value, are not your property, and represent only a limited, revocable license to use them within the Service. Except for the gift card reward program described below, they cannot be sold, transferred, or redeemed for cash or any other item of value outside the Service.
• Virtual items may expire, and we may adjust, manage, regulate, remove, or reset virtual items and reward rules at any time — for example, to fix errors, prevent abuse, or balance the Service.
• Point expiry. Points ("Gold" / K-Point) expire on a rolling monthly schedule: points earned at any time during a calendar month expire at 00:00 UTC on the first day of the fourth month following the month in which they were earned (so every point is valid for at least three months). For example, points earned at any time in January expire on May 1, and points earned in July expire on November 1. Expired points are permanently forfeited and cannot be recovered, restored, or refunded; because points have no monetary value, expiration does not entitle you to any compensation. The next upcoming expiry date and amount are shown in the app under Settings.
• We may withhold or revoke rewards obtained through bugs, fraud, automation, or violation of these Terms.
• Gift card reward program. Users who collect a full set of a specific in-app item (currently a set of 20 "Taegukgi" pieces) may apply to redeem it for a gift card issued through our third-party rewards partner, Tremendous. This program is subject to the following additional terms:
  • Eligibility, gift card brand, and value are determined by your account's country, which is derived from your device/IP information and, once set, is locked for each redemption cycle to prevent manipulation. Country or location spoofing (including VPN use) to obtain a different tier is a violation of these Terms and may result in a rejected or voided redemption and/or account restrictions.
  • Every redemption request is reviewed and approved by us (automatically or manually) before a gift card is issued. We may reject or void a request that appears fraudulent, abusive, erroneous, or made by an ineligible account.
  • Gift cards are issued by Tremendous and/or its card-issuing partners, and their use is subject to Tremendous's and the card issuer's own terms. We are not responsible for how a third-party gift card issuer honors, expires, or restricts a gift card once issued.
  • You are responsible for any taxes owed on a gift card you receive.
  • This program may be modified, limited, paused, or discontinued at any time, including for users who have not yet redeemed.

5. Advertising

The Service is free and supported by advertising. By using the Service, you agree that we and our advertising partners (such as Google AdMob) may display ads. Certain optional features let you watch a "rewarded" ad in exchange for an in-app reward. How advertising data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use bots, scripts, automation, emulators, or exploits to interact with the Service or to earn rewards;
• tamper with, manipulate, or artificially inflate rewards, scores, streaks, or rankings;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where such restriction is prohibited by law;
• interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
• use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms; or
• submit content that is offensive, harassing, infringing, or otherwise inappropriate (including in nicknames and support messages).

7. User Content

You are responsible for the content you submit, such as your nickname and support inquiries. You must not submit content that is unlawful, infringing, offensive, or that impersonates others. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and process the content you submit solely to operate and provide the Service (for example, to display your nickname and respond to your inquiries). We may remove content or nicknames that violate these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and all related content — including lessons, text, graphics, characters, audio (including generated voice audio), software, and the K-EduPoint name and logo — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial learning. You may not copy, distribute, publicly perform, modify, or create derivative works from our content except as expressly permitted.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party services (such as Google and Apple sign-in, Google Firebase, Google AdMob, and Tremendous for gift card rewards). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

10. Updates and Availability

We may update the app and may require you to install updates to keep using it. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. K-EduPoint is an educational tool; we do not guarantee any specific learning outcome, proficiency, or result.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Innovicons Co., Ltd. and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, rewards, virtual items, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service or its rewards, or where required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Except where prohibited by applicable local consumer-protection law, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Korea. If you are a consumer, you may also be entitled to the protections and courts of your country of residence.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
